Commodity Stocks Lagging Actual Commodity Prices

Over the last six months, we've seen the commodity indices take off. Interestingly, commodity stocks have not:



This is a comparison of the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index ETF (GSG) versus the Goldman Sachs Natural Resource Index (IGE). GSG measures the actual commodities while IGE measures natural resouce stocks.

These indices track pretty well over longer periods of time so this will be resolved, but how? Will commodity prices fall or will the stocks catch up?
